Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026This Privacy Policy explains what information MathsWatch collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. MathsWatch is built to require as little personal data as possible — there are no accounts, no payments, and no tracking beyond what is described below.
01 Overview
MathsWatch ("MathsWatch", "we", "us", or "our") provides free maths practice questions, worksheets, calculators, and a formula library at this website (the "Service"). This policy applies to everyone who visits or uses the Service, and it describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information.
By using MathsWatch, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We designed the Service around a simple principle: you should not need to hand over personal information just to practise maths.
02 Information We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to operate the Service. This falls into three categories:
Information you provide directly
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you choose to enter. You are never required to submit this information to browse worksheets, use calculators, or attempt practice questions and quizzes.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers and hosting infrastructure may automatically log limited technical data when you visit, including:
- Your browser type and version
- Your device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on the Service
- Referring website, where applicable
- General location inferred from IP address (country or region level only)
Information from cookies
We use a small number of cookies to remember interface preferences, such as light or dark mode. See the Cookie Policy for full details.
03 How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including diagnosing technical issues
- To understand, in aggregate, which topics, worksheets, and calculators are most useful, so we can prioritise future content
- To protect the security and integrity of the Service, including preventing abuse
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising, and we never sell personal information.
04 Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on the following:
- Consent — for optional cookies and for information you voluntarily submit through the contact form.
- Legitimate interests — for basic technical logging needed to keep the Service secure, reliable, and performant.
06 Third-Party Services
MathsWatch loads web fonts from Google Fonts to display the site correctly. Loading these fonts may result in your browser making a request to Google's servers, which is subject to Google's own privacy practices. We do not embed third-party advertising networks or social media trackers on the Service.
07 Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained only for as long as necessary to respond to and resolve your enquiry, after which they are deleted. Aggregated, anonymised technical logs may be retained for a longer period for security and performance analysis, but this data cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
08 Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we hold from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09 Children's Privacy
MathsWatch is designed to be used by students of all ages, including children studying primary and secondary maths. The Service does not require any child to create an account or submit personal information in order to practise. Where a parent, guardian, or teacher submits information via the contact form on behalf of a student, that submission is treated the same as any other enquiry under this policy. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that concerns you, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
10 Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding information you have submitted to us:
- The right to request access to information we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate information
- The right to request deletion of your information
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, please get in touch using the details in the Contact Us section below. Because MathsWatch does not use accounts, most requests can be resolved simply by asking us to delete any contact form submission associated with your email address.
11 International Users
MathsWatch is accessible worldwide. If you are accessing the Service from outside the country in which our hosting infrastructure is located, be aware that any information you submit may be processed in a different jurisdiction, which may have data protection laws that differ from those of your own country.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
